The Society of Women Engineers is proud to be a community that is open to all. Originally founded by women engineers, SWE-UMN has grown to include engineers of all identities and backgrounds. Our mission is to ensure every student is supported in developing unique engineering and leadership skills and demonstrate the value of diversity and inclusion.
Diversity and collaboration have always been assets to the scientific community, and are pivotal to fostering innovation and creativity. From the development of the modern computer to the discovery of the structure of DNA, many different minds have come together to shape our own technical curiosity and spirit of discovery.
As such, we’re uplifted by the many faces we see at each of our events, and eager to draw from the experiences of all students, regardless of race, gender, religion, or cultural background. We have accomplished so much together, and are thrilled to see what we can achieve next!
